Sarah Eller of Raleigh Must Be A Multi-Faceted Teacher

Sarah Eller works as a high school social studies teacher in her native city of Raleigh, North Carolina. Social studies has been defined by the National Council for Social Studies as an “integrated study of the social sciences and humanities to promote civic competence.” Broad and generalized classes in social studies are meant to prepare students for later studies in history, government and like-minded classes. In general, elementary students study geography, progressing to world and U.S. history in middle school, and becoming more specialized in high school with civics classes revolving around government and political science.

Sarah Eller RaleighAs a high school teacher, Sarah Eller Raleigh would not, today, teach geography. Geography enjoyed much more popularity as an area of study before the 1950’s, when many geography classes were eliminated and elements of geography were integrated into history and earth science classes. Traditionally, population, location, climate, and topography were emphasized. History has generally been broken down into world and U.S. history. Many districts start students’ studies with U.S. History during the Revolutionary War, working up to the present day. Deeper analysis of specific aspects of American history take place during the first two years of high school, while world history is covered in terms of regions, religions, and international conflicts during the junior and senior years. Specialized classes in principals and types of governments, and the current status of world affairs, comprise classes in civics and current events. Sarah Eller Raleigh’s current events instruction encourages upper level high school students to examine the forces and events which impact and change governments and social systems.

Sarah Eller of Raleigh Applauds Britain’s Right to Roam Protections

Poets of the Romantic Movement were great exponents of walking, Sarah Eller’s favorite pastime.   William Wordsworth took an extended walking tour of France, Switzerland and Germany, and from it came his poem The Prelude.  A similar walk through Wales resulted in his famous poem Tintern Abbey.  Samuel Coleridge hiked with his friend Wordsworth through the Lake District, and Keats of the new group of Romantics walked the Lake District as well.  Robert Louis Stevenson originated the travel journal in his Travels with a Donkey, as well as an essay entitled “Walking Tours”, thus creating the travel writing genre.  John Muir wrote possibly the first book describing a long tramp, his Thousand Mile Walk to the Gulf, published after his death.  Sarah Eller Raleigh, North Carolina would be inspired by these early glorifications of the art and pleasure of hiking.

Sarah Eller RaleighEmployment created by the Industrial Age led to a mass exodus to the cities, with cramped, dirty and diseased living conditions.  It is no wonder that walking became the escape of sometimes unbearable surroundings.  Rambling ‘clubs’ emerged  in response to the dangers of trespassing on private lands, and these clubs, some of which were patronized by lords and ladies, lobbied Parliament for bills which would guarantee access to mountains, or the right to roam.  It wasn’t until 1949, with the Access to Countryside Act, that the UK began to open itself to the rights of hikers in the countryside.  The first Peak District National Park was established in 1951.  In 2000 the Countryside and Rights of Way Act opened up much more access to the back country of England and Wales, similar to Sarah Eller’s right to tramp her beloved Raleigh, North Carolina.

Raleigh, North Carolina Booms for Sarah Eller

By 1874, Raleigh, North Carolina’s first federal project since the end of the War was completed, the Federal Building. However, the right to vote and hold office was long denied black citizens, despite attempts at legislation guaranteeing rights, and the activism of blacks in North Carolina. Voting rights would not be re-established until the advent of federal civil rights legislation in the 1960’s. Sarah Eller would be born and grow up in a Raleigh fast-growing into the 21st century, with legal rights established by law and enforced under state and federal protections.

Sarah Eller RaleighRaleigh, North Carolina has experienced enormous growth in the first decade of the 21st century, and this growth is reflected in the prominent notice it has gained in Forbes, MSNBC and Money Magazine features. Boasting a robust business climate, and multiple growth projects, Raleigh has re-opened its historic Fayetteville Street to vehicles, and the response through downtown has been galvanic. New construction and new business is making the downtown a revitalized area. The Fayetteville Street itself is now registered on the National Registry of Historic Places, and Sarah Eller has long enjoyed the historic stroll it provides.

Sarah Eller Raleigh’s topography reflects the transition to the plains of the coast, and rolling hills present numerous streams and waterfalls as the craggy Piedmont gives way to the lower coastal regions’ wetlands ecosystems. Residents of Raleigh, North Carolina, like Sarah Eller, have long learned to love this beautiful and historic state capital, by continually discovering delightful surprises around every corner.

Sarah Eller of Raleigh is Deeply Acquainted with the Rich History of Raleigh, North Carolina

Raleigh was chosen as the site for a new capital of North Carolina in 1788, and officially established in 1792. But it was by no means the first capital.  The oldest town in North Carolina, Bath, was the first capital from 1705 to 1722.  Edenton was christened the capital after Bath, but when institutions of government were installed, New Bern became the capital in 1743.  In 1788, with the need for more safety and security in mind, North Carolinian lawmakers searched for a more secure capital, away from the Atlantic Coast, and set upon the Raleigh area as both more centrally located and less likely to suffer attacks from pirates and foreign powers sailing to the coast.  Another reason for the Raleigh area as the perfect choice for the new capital was its proximity to Isaac Hunter’s Tavern, a favorite gathering spot for colony legislators.  Raleigh was already the county seat of Wake County, and became the official state capital in 1792.  Sarah Eller has lived in Raleigh all her life, and is closely acquainted with its beauty, its culture, and its history as the namesake of Sir Walter Raleigh, who established the first European colony on Roanoke Island, the infamous ‘lost’ colony of legend.

Respect the Teacher

Respecting the teacher is important because the teacher is ultimately the one who drives all the activities the class will participate in that day. Showing disrespect to the teacher will switch the teacher’s focus to getting you in control, while his or her primary duty I to be teaching the students.

Respect Your Classmates

Consider the wants and needs of your fellow classmates in deciding whether you should interrupt the class or not. More times than not the students are benefitting from whatever it is the teacher is doing, and if your issue has no relevance to the subject then it is even more important that you wait until after class to share it with your friends.

Respect Yourself

You, too need to benefit from the lessons that your teacher is providing you with; so it would be in your best interest as well to focus and pay attention.

In this post, we’ll take a look at some of the reasons why education is an important resource in society. Education involves the absorption of knowledge, often imparted by a teacher, professor, or other type of educational instructor. Those who are in the process of becoming more educated include those in primary school, middle school, high school, and colleges and universities. Those who are attending college or a university are considered to be students of higher learning, as most areas do not require individuals attend college and therefore students must elect, on their own fruition, to attend college, or, a ‘higher learning’ institution.

Below are some of the reasons why many people seek education:

Understanding

Many people elect to enter into educational programs for the purposes of broadening their understanding about any number of topics.

Career Options:

Many people seek education as a way to expand their career options. Many career fields require specific academic credentials.

As a teacher, Sarah Eller of Raleigh is keenly aware of the importance of education.

Sarah Eller of Raleigh – Things to Do on a Lake

Sarah Eller of Raleigh loves to go to Lake Gaston with her friends and family, where they enjoy a number of fun lake activities that get them some fun in the sun while enjoying all the benefits of being in a large body of water. Fishing

Lakes are a peaceful place to get some freshwater fishing in, where you can take a boat out, paddle a canoe or simply cast a line from the shore and wait to see if anything bites. And if you get enough catches, you can feed the whole group for the night, which will earn you special accommodations later.

Swimming

Swimming is a fun and healthy activity that requires nothing more than a swimsuit. It is important, however to be aware of the boats in the area as well as the wildlife in that particular lake so that you can have a safe and enjoyable swim.

Boating

Lakes are also great places to dock a boat, because the lack of ocean currents means the water is calm most of the time and therefore much easier on wake conditions so that you have a smooth ride that your passengers as well as your boat will appreciate.

First, every teacher gets the joy of watching their workmake a difference in the lives of their students. As the students grow more mature as well as more knowledgeable on your subject, it becomes a source of pride that you have been such a positive role model in their lives.

Second, you get your own intrinsic benefits as the students’ wit and knowledge of current pop culture helps keep you young.  Being in the loop on all of the latest trends comes with a refreshed sense of fascination, which can help increase happiness as well as your own knowledge on different subjects that may not be taught in school.

Third, you get to feel like a kid all over again through watching your students develop under your wing. You get to laugh with them and enjoy their presence as they go through the more developmental phases of their lives.
